Well, yesterday wasn't that exciting of a day. We just stayed home, watched 'Cars' (for the millionth time!), and played. I was able to go to the gym, so Derrick took over kid duty and they love Daddy time! Harlow is turning into such a Daddy's girl, I can't decide how I feel about that yet. After the kids went to bed I made some REALLY cute headbands and clips. I was going to make a onesie, but we are missing the cord to our printer so that had to be put off. I am going to start posting about all of my bedazzling and headband activities at
lovingsparkle.blogspot.com so start checking there pretty soon!

Sibling love

I just love this picture for some reason!

So sweet!

This is what DJ does when Harlow tries to play with his toys. He goes

A Great Day in Green Bay

Yesterday was a great day! First we ventured into my favorite store ever... Hobby Lobby! I could spend hours in that store, but for some reason... DJ just wasn't too into it. Later on, when we got home, DJ decided that he didn't need a nap (you will see how that worked out later) so he helped me clean... and by help I mean he messed up everything that I cleaned. When Harlow woke up, we took a nice little trip to Target (my other favorite store) to get a birthday card because oh yeah!!! We were having company! When we got back home, DJ was passed out on the couch... I guess he needed a nap after all. He was awoken by the Underwood family and went from 0-60 in .52 seconds. He was so happy to have kids his age come and play (for some reason I think that Harlow and I are starting to bore him???). Then the greatest thing EVER happened- the babysitters arrived. Yes everyone, we got to have a night with another couple KID FREE! It was amazing and the babysitters (there were 2 to handle all 5 of the kids) were great. I made sure to get both of their information so we can have more baby free nights in the future. We all had fun and I hope that it happens again soon!

All of the kids (minus the baby) with one of our brave babysitters

Harlow just looking cute!

How I came home to find DJ, I think his bed would have been more comfortable!

Goodbye Carbs... Hello Bahamas!

So today is the first day of my no carbs diet. We are going to the Bahamas soon and this is my way to prepare! The first year we went DJ was only 4 months old (yikes!) and most pictures have my body cropped out. Last summer, well I was 7 months pregnant! This year I have no excuse and hopefully when we get back there will be lots of un-cropped photos! Wish me luck!

July 2008- Notice how all of body is missing?

July 2009- Underneath DJ there is a big belly!

“How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late soon”

~Dr. Seuss

Today may have been a long day, but I know that this really won't last for long. I can't believe how big DJ and Harlow are already. I need to cherish a day like today (even if I only have 2 hours of sleep!) because they are growing and not stopping anytime soon. Somebody once told me something about being a stay at home mom- The days are long, but the years go fast... they were right.

Where is the snooze button?

So this morning I got a nice wake up call, DJ came into our room at 4:45. I am not quite enjoying how he figured out to climb out of his crib. Harlow then decided to join the party at 5. I am not positive, but I have a feeling this is going to be a very long day.

Eventful Day in Green Bay

Well today was a very busy day. Derrick had his first football camp in Green Bay! I took the kids (late, but we made it) and DJ had so much fun watching "Touchdown!!!" since he doesn't say football. He made a friend, found the only puddle there, and refreshed his awesome football skills. Both kids were really good and then they both took long naps! That is the greatest thing they ever could have done for me and I know they had fun when they take good naps.

Then, something big happened! After Harlow woke up she was wandering around and she stood! She stood unassisted and tried to take a step!!!! Oh my goodness, what am I going to do when she starts walking??? I just know that I need to enjoy these last few weeks of her crawling, because I have a feeling that she is going to be on her feet in no time. Let the fun begin!

Brotherly Love

So my tough little boy was so sweet this morning! I was changing Harlow's diaper and DJ came and sat right by her head. I think Harlow was a little nervous (rightfully so, this doesn't normally end well) but we decided to wait and see what Little Mister was up to. DJ then gave Harlow a nice, gentle pat on the head, followed by about 3 kisses. Harlow was ecstatic and my heart was melting, when DJ then picked up his book and started to read to her! Unfortunately his reading skills aren't to high (I haven't been too good about watching 'My Baby Can Read' with him), but he did "Roar" quite a bit, it was a book about dinosaurs... so he wasn't too far off. Then the diaper change was over, Harlow knocked over his train, and he yelled at her. But for a few minutes... it was pure sibling love in the Living Room de Martin!

Let's begin!

Well, I have finally decided to start a blog! I am so excited! So to get started, I thought I would introduce you to the characters in this crazy thing I like to call my life.

First, we have my husband, Derrick, he is one VERY handsome man if you ask me (and you are reading my blog, so I am assuming that you are asking me!). He is funny, very outgoing, and a great Dad. He loves his family and we love him!

Next we have DJ. How do I describe DJ? He is just about the funniest kid I have ever met (and he doesn't even say that much!) and couldn't possibly be any cuter! He is a Blue's Clues fanatic, an expert in the area of Choo-Choooos, and quite the athlete. He is the stereotypical rough and tough little boy, yet the sweetest little guy in the world. You usually can find him with a huge smile on his face and laughing as loud as he can (when he isn't throwing a tantrum... how I love the 'Terrible 2's').

Finally, there is Harlow, she is my little princess. She loves to give kisses and hugs, smiles whenever she sees her doll, and is just a little cuddle bug. She loves her big brother to pieces and thinks he is the funniest person in the world. Harlow watches DJ all day long and from doing that she has already figured out how to really make him mad! That's right, my 9 month old angel already teases her brother. Knocking over his blocks and trains are her personal favorite... but I think that she will develop some new ones in the not so distant future. After she teases him though, she bats her little eye lashes and gives him a kiss... I think we may be in trouble!

So there you have it, my family. I can't wait to tell you more and I am sure that there is going to be a lot more to tell!
